Food is totally bland and not as described I.e rich onion gravy bland and out of a tub without any onions in it and squid said deep fried and was no way fried and Southern fried chicken burger which was just 3 chicken dippers. No ice as well with drinks and didn't sell ipa in half's only pints which as far as I understand is illegal under licencing law. Not impressed the chef has no frigging idea how took cook. Wanted to complain there and then but didn't fancy getting bared as summer is coming and nice pub for a pint. Noteworthy details: Don't go here for food

Super value. Clean, comfortable and warm room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast very good and set us up perfectly for the day ahead. Nice pint of real ale on tap, will definitley be back to stay and enjoy a pint with the lovely view when it is warner.

Proper British pub: The Union Jack behind the bar and a lovely Indian gentleman on the staff. Felt proud of our country. And oh yeah, great accommodation/ folk music 👍👍 Thank you very much. Dan

I can honestly say that I have never met such a rude , arrogant, awkward person behind a bar. Sat and watched how he was rude and ignorant to other customers and it was uncomfortable to watch. I really don't know why such a rude person would be behind a bar facing customers , I doubt with that attitude he will be there much longer. It won't affect me though because I for one won't be returning

Really can't review every thing as we never entered the premises. On Thursday 21st Dember 2023 me and my friend enjoyed a nice walk with my dog and arrived at the Ship Inn at 1pm and the door was locked then the owner appeared to greet us with 'what do you want' so we said we wanted a drink but we were told it doesn't open till 2 and I have no staff till then. Needless to say I won't be returning.

Was barred for ordering chips and a hot chocolate. We tried to order a portion of chips and were shouted at as they "don't fry chips" and they don't have the facilities to make a hot chocolate. We caused such a ruckus we were told not to come back.

Probably the rudest, most dismissive, unhelpful person I've met in a decade. He couldn't really advise if we had a room or not, despite booking well in advance under previous owners and confirming recently with him on the phone. Didn't even try to help. Frankly, this chap was on a different planet and had zero people skills. I doubt he'll be there long. Never made it inside… we went elsewhere!

Didn't stay. Just went for a fantastic Sunday roast. Heard the chef is really good, so we went to try. Not disappointed, food was fantastic and plenty of it. A great starter, main and pudding all home cooked not pre prepared. All in all, a great meal in a lovely traditional country village pub, just what you need. All staff we great to very welcoming

A nice get away with a very rural location. This Inn was very accommodating for us and our dogs, it was a peaceful location and the pub was very busy, so i assume a great one for the locals. Our room was good quality for money. It was very basic, no wifi but there was a TV with usual channels. And most importantly, the bed was comfortable. I liked the layout of the rooms with a little kitchen area between the bedroom and bathroom. A good night sleep ready for our next day of exploring Suffolk. Rooms: The rooms are located away from the Inn. Ours was number 1 which was very close, but we didnt hear any noise from the pub. Nearby activities: There are some nice countryside walks and there is a beautiful church. But otherwise, you are rural!

We had a delicious meal. But unfortunately we were overcharged by £10 for a child's meal. It was a genuine mistake. I asked for a refund but it was VOID on the card receipt. We have since rung several times since to get this refund sorted but have been fobbed off with excuses that the appropriate person isn't there to deal with it. So beware of being overcharged !!!
